Knife Party are the side-project of some members of a certain well renowned (and ancient) act, Pendulum. On offer here are two blitz/bliss filled remixes, one of new kid-on-the-block Porter Robinson’s Unison, as well as a tidy little remix of big hitters Nero and their track (remix posing as an original) Crush On You, off their newly released debut album, Welcome Reality.
Porter Robinson – Unison (Knife Party Remix)
Nero – Crush On You (Knife Party Remix)
As for that nifty knife/cross above? I like it. Someone doesn’t like your religion? Shank them. Simple.

Brookes Brothers stand out from the majority of the Drum N Bass crowd, in that, they aren’t interested in melting your face off, or pounding it in with drum patterns set at a ridiculously high BPM. Brookes Brothers make music with soul, guaranteed to put a smile on that proverbial dial. Anyhow, new track from Brookes Brothers, The Big Blue. Strangely familiar sample halfway through the song, but I can’t put my finger on it. Beautiful takes a while to build up, but trust me, it’s worth it.

If you are craving something with a little more dub and step, let Flinch set your world on fire. Reminiscent of Skrillex’s Kill Everybody. Top stuff.

Feed Me is the Electro side project of DnB producer Spor, Nero is arguably one of the biggest duos in the burgeoning music scene known as Dubstep, and I’m the guy who overuses genres to label music and their artists. But enough with the genres. Feed Me’s remix of Nero’s Innocence is deliciously tantalising stuff. It’s similar to being forced to constantly switch between acceleration and deceleration, then be suddenly hurled into a solid, steady wobble.
Nero – Innocence (Feed Me Remix)
Also on offer are Nero’s VIP edition of Guilt, an assault of tremor and stabbing synths, as well as Feed Me’s remix of Robyn’s Call Your Girlfriend, which poses the question. What type of calling is implied? Is it Call Your Girlfriend (Over The Phone) or is it Call Your Girlfriend (A Slut)? Ahh, the mysteries of life.

Hey, you great big ray of sunshine. I’ve got a ripper of a Netsky remix for you, off Rusko’s newly released Everyday EP. Like dancing while playing on your Gameboy.
Rusko – Everyday (Netsky Remix)
If you want some more upbeat Netsky, this is here to put a smile on your dial. Oscillating, scintillating, and marvelously titillating synths. Fire away.

Stumbled across a brilliant version of the theme from The Legend Of Zelda. Brings back memories of playing the original Zelda on NES, firing bows and arrows and shanking monsters. Then I started playing that Ocarina Of Time. This year. Got stuck in a giant tree.
I don’t think I’ve wanted to dance to a tune from my childhood before (with the exception of the Pokemon theme song), so hats off to Zedd. Also appreciate his remix of Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites, though I do prefer the original, probably because Zedd’s remix takes about one and a half minutes to kick in properly, and Skrillex made it delicious to start off with. While we’re on the topic of Skrillex…

..His latest release is, honestly, terrible. I strongly suspect that this was ripped from a set and, unfortunately, poorly mastered by a gushing vagina of a fan. As Skrillex is one of the leading Electro/Dubstep/Fidget/Progressive Trance/Whatever producers on the scene, I wouldn’t want you to be put off by this atrocity. If you have to look at one Skrillex track in this post, make it his remix of Cinema.

Remember kids, I’m here to help broaden your musical horizons

I’m the new guy. I’m here to help feed your darker side. But not with crack. Just music. But if you do want crack, I know a guy…
So, I’ll be upfront and honest with you. I will post Dubstep, amongst other things. If you’re up for something new, from the new guy, then download away. If not, I’ll convince you. Sooner or later. Mark my words.
I’ve graded the following tracks in order of intensity. The first is a Skream remix of Cassius, with the piano chords and soul lyrics that the disco crew so admire. However, it does have a heavier drum beat. The second is Rusko’s brilliant remix of Sub Focus’ Splash, featuring the hollow, distant vocals of Coco, lashings of synth, and a lot of trademark Rusko mid-range wobble. The third is a heavy-handed Drum ‘N Bass fest with Noisia and the forever in-your-face Foreign Beggars, and a whomping, pounding drop.
Cassius – I Love U So (Skream Remix)
Sub Focus – Splash (Rusko Remix)
Foreign Beggars & Noisia – Contact (Noisia Remix)
Be on the lookout for me, I’m sure I’ll become your new favourite blogger , sorry Kish
