I’ve been really into Italo-Disco at the moment. I blame the boyfriend. It’s a good type of blame though, like a happy blame, a blame you would impose upon a hairdresser after they give you a good haircut (this is obviously a hypothetical – this never happens) “I blame you for my fabulous new do!” or blaming your mother for giving birth to you because life is great and if it wasn’t for her you wouldn’t be able to eat icecream EVER; “Thanks mum, thanks to things I’d rather not think about, I get to experience ice-cream” and so on…
Now that’s been cleared up, let’s get back into the music.
♫ Rofo - You’ve Got To Move It On (download)
This is a track by Rofo. It has that classic Italo-Disco sound that we all love – sub par pronunciation, synths and a fat bass.
♫ Ken Laszlo – Hey Hey Guy (download)
So this is what I think Synth City would be like. The musical work around the chorus is sparkly and fresher than your kicks. From 4:37 onwards, shit gets real.
♫ Laserdance – Endless Dream (download)
This is the best track in the post. It is truly an ageless track. I can just imagine dancing to this on the streets of Amsterdam. No vocals, soz girls, but truly an italo masterpiece (thanks boyf)
